Making NSW the easiest place to drive an electric vehicle in Australia
Whether you’re on the daily school run or exploring the regions of our beautiful state, it’s easy to drive an electric vehicle (EV). Find out how we are supporting NSW families and businesses to make the move to the vehicles of the future.
World-class fast charging network across the state
Our $149 million investment to ensure that fast charging stations for electric vehicles are no more than 5 km apart in metropolitan areas or 100 km apart on major highways across NSW – perfect for when you hit the open road.
Enriching experiences while you charge
There are now over 3,200 public EV charge points across NSW and plenty more on the way. Whether you’re stopping for lunch on the Central Coast or visiting a winery in the Southern Highlands, charging your EV is so much more than just stopping and plugging in. Thanks to the NSW destination charging grants, your next charging stop is both convenient and something to look forward to.
EV-friendly road trips across NSW – with more to come
Thousands of chargers across NSW will help you get on the move easily with one of our EV friendly road trips. We have 9 routes to guide you to beautiful spots and hidden gems across the state, creating endless possibilities to recharge on your EV adventure.
Kerbside charging in metropolitan areas
We’re investing $10 million to install EV kerbside chargers where they’re needed most. We have already allocated funding for more than 670 public charging points across almost 400 sites. Our kerbside charging grants are supporting drivers in metropolitan areas of NSW who have no access to off-street parking to charge their EV.
Making NSW the easiest place to drive an EV
We’re providing the information and resources to help you make an informed decision about your vehicle. We’re also working with businesses to fast-track their transition to electric vehicles. These are just some of the ways our EV Strategy is helping NSW become the easiest place in Australia to drive an EV.
