The Waratah Super Battery will be one of the largest battery energy storage systems in the world, and it is being built right here on the Central Coast of NSW.
The project will ensure a reliable supply of energy across the state, especially during times when it is needed the most, like in the event of power surges during a storm or bushfire.
Construction of the Waratah Super Battery is well underway, and on track for opening in 2025.
In this video, the Executive Director of Technical Services at EnergyCo, Andrew Kingsmill, and EnergyCo’s Chief Project Officer, Mark Westbrook, share updates on an important Waratah Super Battery milestone and what this means for the project and the energy transition.
Across NSW, our electricity network is transforming. With the Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, the NSW Government is accelerating investment in renewable energy and storage infrastructure, like the Waratah Super Battery, to deliver the electricity network to power our state now and for the next generation.
