Restore Country and earn carbon credits

Carbon farming can help restore Country and can also bring a range of cultural, environmental and economic outcomes, known as 'co-benefits'.

Carbon farming refers to land management activities that reduce carbon emissions by either:

  • storing carbon in soil or vegetation (sequestration)
  • avoiding emissions that would have otherwise gone into the atmosphere.

Carbon projects can deliver outcomes for Country, culture and community. For example, carbon projects can include important medicine plants, bush foods and habitat for totemic species.

Carbon farming can also generate carbon credits, which can then be sold for income.
